Obituary of Charles J. Rojas
Charles J. Rojas, Jr., age 85, entered into eternal rest on March 28, 2024. He was born on January 4, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Charles J. Rojas, Sr. and Hercinia (Gonzalez) Rojas. Charles served his country with pride as a US Navy veteran from 1957 to 1959. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a dedicated firefighter with the FDNY, retiring in 1982 from Ladder 147 after years of selfless service to his community.
Throughout his life, Charles was a pillar of strength and devotion to his family. He shared 51 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia Rojas. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Charles will be deeply missed by his loving family, including his children Renee Westphal (Troy), Charles “Chuck” Rojas, Laurie Kopchinski (Chris), and Michael Rojas (Kathleen). He will also be fondly remembered as a cherished grandfather to Edward, Maxwell, and Charles. Additionally, he leaves behind his dear brother, Robert Rojas.
A memorial visitation to celebrate the life of Charles J. Rojas will be held on Friday, April 19, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, located at 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn. Following the visitation, a procession will form and depart from the funeral home at 12:30 PM, making its way to Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn for burial.
