Mary P. Colgan was born in Williamsburg, New York on May 13, 1935, the daughter of James and Mary Alexander. She grew up with eleven brothers and sisters. On September 15, 1955 she married Ronald Colgan. She had her first child, Donna, on February 9, 1957. Five years later, Mary gave birth to her son Ronald on August 14, 1962. She raised her children in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, where she spent most her life enjoying family and friends. Mary had six grandchildren Danielle, Joseph, Ryan, Sean, Thomas and Caitlin. Mary worked at P.S. 254 for over thirty years. Mary loved waking up every morning and going to P.S. 254 to spend the day with her second family. Mary lived a full life with her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her sisters and brothers, nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was a die-hard New York Jets fan and adored Frank Sinatra. Mary is survived by her sisters Lila Bahan and Mary Raso and Brothers, Peter Alexander and Perry Alexander; her daughter, Donna Arena and son in law, John Arena; her son Ronald Colgan and daughter in law Nancy Colgan; and her grandchildren, Danielle Arena, Joseph Arena, Ryan Colgan, Sean Colgan, Thomas Colgan and Cailtlin Colgan.
