What can one say about someone whom EVERYONE LIKED! Growing up with seven uncles & aunts (not including their spouses and one uncle who passed away too young and for the younger first cousins to have the pleasure of knowing), it was as if we not only each had parents, but an extension of that, as that each uncle and aunt were also like parents. It was a normal occurrence to have a 15 person dinner every Sunday.
Uncle Joe was one person who could always make me smile and laugh. He will be missed dearly. B15: BINGO!

I was not a personal friend of Joe's, but I am well aquainted with his Son Robert (Bob) and family. & if as they say, you can judge a man by his family, he was a great guy. All my love and best wishes to the family and my condolences.

To Robert and Jerry and Family;
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you on this day. I am so very sorry that I can’t be there with all of you, but trust the fact that my thoughts and prayers are there with you.
Since I received the call that your dad passed I have been reflecting on some of the times during my childhood and teen years that had fond and fun memories of him.
I even recall the years back on 50 Oliver Street when uncle Joey and my mom, my mom’s sisters and aunt Tessie and Uncle Sal use to hang around together, that crowd use to keep things pretty upbeat and fun. They, at times staged some crazy moments.
I’ve been also recalling a few times in my very early teen years when Uncle Joey was just dating Aunt Jo and they both would, on occasions during the summer evenings go to Coney Island and they would take baby Lee and me with them. We enjoyed that because we felt they were young and cool.
I also remember the last time I spoke with him, it was my last visit to NYC and it was at your house Jerry and he and I did some reminiscing at that time also.
I know this can’t take the place of my presents with all of you today, but I hoped it helped, because I know it helped me.
God bless you Uncle Joey and may you rest in the peace of the Lord.
Love to all

“I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. “  Leo Buscaglia
