Lorna Foster

Obituary of Lorna Patricia Foster

Our beloved Aunt Lorna Patricia Foster passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 23rd. Although Lorna was her given name, she preferred to just be called “Patsy”. She was born on October 5th, 1947  in Kingston, Jamaica.

Her family migrated to Brooklyn, USA when she was two years old. Patsy attended Saint Brendan’s Parochial School and then James Madison High School. Upon graduation, She began working in the accounting department at the Bank of New York Mellon in lower Manhattan. She spent her entire career, almost fifty years, with the bank.

Upon retirement, Patsy’s hobbies included travel, cooking and reading. She also took great pleasure walking her neighbor’s dog and tending to her flower garden but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Her sobriety and involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous played a large role in her life. She attended meetings several days a week and   served as Secretary. Her involvement led to the development of many close friendships.

Patsy’s Marine Park residence on Burnett street, where she lived for fifty-two years, was more than a home. Through the years, her neighbors became her extended family and she cherished living on the block with so many caring and friendly people.

Patsy had four siblings that predeceased her. She is survived by several cousins, her caring brother-in-law George, eight loving nieces and nephews and five grand-nieces and nephews. May her soul rest in eternal peace in God’s Heavenly Kingdom.
