Obituary of Harvey Knauer

Harvey Knauer, age 91, of Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn, NY, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at home, surrounded by family. Mr. Knauer was born March 10, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late George and the late Wilmer (nee Luhrs) Knauer. 

Mr. Knauer served with honor and bravery as a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War. His unwavering commitment to his country and his courage on the battlefield were a testament to his character and dedication.

Mr. Knauer is survived by his beloved wife Theresa (nee Hannigan) Knauer.

Cherished father of Theresa Ann Knauer (Raymond Weinberg) Catherine Legiadre (Thomas,) John Harvey Knauer, Richard Knauer, Rose Marie Ardito (Frank) and Joseph Knauer (Michelle.)

Mr. Knauer will be missed by his nine grandchildren and great-grandchild.

He also leaves behind his brother, George Knauer (Carolyn.)

Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 7 from 9:00 - 10:30 AM at Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY.

Burial to follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations to be made to the VA NY HCS - NY Campus (630).
