Obituary of Mary Prestininzi
Mary Prestininzi, age 84, of Brooklyn, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 17, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. Mary Prestininzi was born on October 25, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Christopher and the late Rose (Trani) Iacono. Beloved wife of the late Peter Prestininzi. Loving mother of Carla Anne and LeeAnne. Beloved sister of the late Larry, the late Josie and Anne.
Mary was a talented seamstress who sewed and made her own clothes for special events, including weddings, and created outfits for her children when they were young. She learned to bake and ran a small bakery, becoming famous for her cheesecakes. Mary had a passion for reading and was excellent at writing; she once wrote to the editor of a local newspaper about an article she read, and her letter was published.
Mary deeply loved her family and extended family. She was known for her good sense of humor and her insightful nature, with an exceptional ability to read people well. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings at her home, creating many cherished memories for her loved ones.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday June 1, 2024 at Marine Park Funeral Home from 2:00 – 7:00 PM.
Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
