Obituary of Vincent Sclafani
Vincent Sclafani passed away on April 19, 2024, at the age of 77. Born to the late Vincent Charles and Concetta Sclafani, Vincent's life was marked by a steadfast commitment to his family, his country, and his passions.
Vincent shared 53 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Sclafani, a partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they built a life rich in love and memories, creating a legacy that will endure through the generations.
Vincent leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance through his children: Vincent L. (Kristin) Sclafani, Louis T. Sclafani, Gina (Ali) Sclafani, and Christina Sclafani.
Vincent's role as a grandfather brought him immeasurable joy. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Alessandro, Analisa, Vincent, and Romeo.
A patriot through and through, Vincent served his country with honor and distinction as a combat infantryman during the Vietnam War, bravely defending the freedoms that we hold dear.
Following his military service, Vincent continued to serve his community as a Police Officer with the NYPD, embodying the values of service, courage, and integrity in every aspect of his work.
Beyond his service, Vincent was a man of many passions. He found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether casting a line in the water while fishing, honing his skills on the pool table, or indulging his fascination with toy cars and trains. His love for speed and excitement was reflected in his enthusiasm for fast cars, and his loyalty to the Mets spoke to his unwavering devotion to his favorite team.
Vincent will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, his memory a beacon of light and inspiration to us all.
