Obituary of Ariana F. Sorrisio-Sanford

Ariana F. Sorrisio-Sanford, born on March 7, 1982, passed way on February 18, 2024. She was welcomed into the embrace of Heaven by her mother, Frances (Alonso) Sorrisio, and her precious baby.

A proud graduate of Madison High School in 2000, Ariana continued her pursuit of knowledge at Brooklyn College, earning a degree in Psychology in 2017. Her academic achievements were just one aspect of her rich and fulfilling life.

Ariana's heart belonged to her beloved husband, Adam W. Sanford, and their treasured 12-year-old son, Nicholas Sorrisio-Sanford. As a mother, Ariana was nothing short of extraordinary, with her life revolving around the joy and well-being of her son. She never missed a single basketball or baseball game, proudly cheering on Nicholas with unwavering support.

Survived by her father, Victor Sorrisio and sister, Victoria Sorrisio, Ariana also leaves behind a network of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Bobby and Barbara Alonso, Gabby and Garry Lester, and Michelle Marie and Joseph Burns were an integral part of her extended family, as were cousins Melissa, Jessica, Alec, Olivia, Sarah, Joanna, Joseph, and Madelyn.

Ariana's dearest friend of 28 years, Therese Rivera, shared countless memories and joys with her. The family extended beyond humans, as Ariana adored her feline companions, Luna and Meowth.

With a passion for cooking and baking, Ariana's culinary skills brought warmth and comfort to those around her. Her love for the beach, annual attendance at Met's games, and enjoyment of the Brooklyn Cyclones reflected her vibrant spirit and diverse interests. Ariana found purpose and fulfillment in her role as a Para Professional for the New York City Department of Education, dedicating her time to J.H.S. 078 Roy H. Mann School. Her commitment to education extended to her involvement with the School Leadership Team (SLT) Committee.

Ariana's heart was filled with love for children, and her profession was not just a job but a true calling. Her favorite vacation spots were the Bahamas and Disney, where she created cherished memories with her family. A bookworm at heart, Ariana found solace in the pages of the Outlander and Harry Potter series, demonstrating her appreciation for the magic of storytelling.
