Obituary of Rose Giberti

Rose Giberti, a cherished soul who graced this world for 93 years, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024. She was born on March 25, 1930, in Laterza (Taranto) Italy, to her devoted parents, Vincenzo and Erminia Iavernaro.

At the tender age of three, Rose embarked on a journey to the United States in November 1933, alongside her mother and sister Grace, seeking to reunite with her father who had paved the way for their new lives in the US. This marked the beginning of a life filled with love, resilience, and a deep connection to family.

Rose married to her loving husband, Charles Giberti, on September 12, 1954 - they shared a lifetime of joy and unwavering companionship. Their union was a source of strength and love, providing a foundation for a family that Rose held dear to her heart. They remained married until Charlie's passing on October 8, 1992.

Throughout the years, Rose was an active and devout member of the Catholic Adults of Brooklyn. She dedicated much of her time to the Rosary Society of St. Bernard, where her warm spirit and compassionate nature touched the lives of many. St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church held a special place in her heart, and she frequently volunteered, leaving an impactful mark on the community. Rose found joy in volunteering at the "Another World" Soap Opera luncheons. Her generous spirit extended to her favorite pastimes, knitting and crocheting, skills she used to create beautiful keepsakes for her loved ones.

Rose reveled in the excitement of visiting Atlantic City and attending the Legends Shows, creating cherished memories with family and friends. She was a pillar of strength and support for her family, always present with unwavering love and encouragement.

An avid supporter, Rose could often be found cheering on her brother-in-law Nicky at his races, embodying the true meaning of family bonds. She is survived by her loving daughter, Christina (Tina) Giberti, and her devoted sisters, Grace Sarnicola and Ellie (Nicky) Graziano. Rose will be deeply missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Rose Giberti leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit. Her departure creates a void that will be felt by her many friends, whose lives she enriched with her laughter, generosity, and enduring friendship. As we remember Rose, let us celebrate the beautiful life she led and the love she shared with all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.

The visitation for Rose Giberti will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and on Friday, Feburary 2, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 9:45 AM - the family will be gathering at the funeral home by 8:45 AM. The Committal Service will immediately follow the Funeral Mass at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
