Obituary of Vincent John Puleo
Vincent Puleo, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away on January 3, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Thomas and Isabella Puleo, Vincent's life was marked by a profound commitment to his family and a dedicated career as a butcher.
Vincent was married to Helene Puleo. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared memories. Vincent was the proud father of Elisabeth (Chris) Puleo, Vincent (Jacqueline) Puleo, Stacy (Selda) Puleo, Steven (Maryjo) Puleo, and Thomas (Tracy) Puleo.
Family was the cornerstone of Vincent's life, and he cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren: Jennifer (Anthony), Jake (Nelly), Maya, Alyssa, Toby, Lucas, James, and Julia. His legacy extended to his great-grandchildren: Joseph, Vincent, and Austin.
Vincent was a dedicated butcher from his teenage years until his retirement around the age of 60. His passion for the trade was evident in his work at Gennaros, a family-owned store where he worked alongside his two brothers. They successfully managed two locations—one on Avenue N and the other on Avenue R. The store became not only a place of business but a testament to the strong bond between the Puleo brothers.
Vincent's work ethic and commitment to providing for his family were admirable. His life revolved around the values of hard work, dedication, and family. Vincent's love for his work and his devotion to his family were inseparable, creating a legacy that will endure through the generations.
Vincent is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings Anthony (Terry) and Thomas (Debra). His sisters Rosalie Grupski and Lucille (Frank) Nicola preceded him in death.
Vincent Puleo will be remembered for his warm heart, tireless work ethic, and unwavering love for his family. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories he created throughout his remarkable life.
