Obituary of Michael Romeo
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael Romeo, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Michael, aged 58, passed away on December 4, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a deep passion for the sea.
Born on May 2, 1965, Michael was a man of the ocean, a true seafarer at heart. His love for fishing, boating, and being on the open water defined his life and brought him immense joy. Michael achieved a remarkable feat by obtaining a captain's license, a testament to his dedication and skill on the seas. His ability to navigate the waters was not just a profession but a lifelong pursuit that reflected his deep connection to the ocean.
Michael was a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warm smile, kind heart, and easygoing nature endeared him to everyone he met.
At the center of Michael's world was his loving wife, Melissa Buckman, with whom he shared a partnership marked by love, understanding, and unwavering support. Michael was a devoted father to his children, Michael and Savannah.
In addition to his immediate family, Michael leaves behind a legacy in the form of his siblings: Louise, Rosemary, Edna, and the late John. His influence as a brother extended to his role as an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom felt the warmth of his love and the wisdom of his guidance.
The memory of Michael Romeo will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his unexpected departure, let us also celebrate the life of a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of the sea and shared that joy with everyone around him. May he find eternal peace as he sails into the sunset, leaving behind the gentle ripples of his memory in the hearts of those who loved him.
