Carol Kerins

Obituary of Carol Ann Kerins

Carol A. Kerins, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many went to heaven on November 29, 2021, at the age of 92. She was born in Brooklyn and was the second of four children of Marguerite and Joseph Haltigan. She married her beloved Eddie in 1953. Carol and Eddie lived and loved until his death in 1995. They had three sons and shared their home with Aunt Kathleen on Avenue T in Brooklyn. Carol's unconditional love and fierce devotion to her sons and her ten grandchildren, made them, in many ways, who they are today.

She was an elegant, grand lady, known for her red lips and pearls. Carol spread joy through her smile and kindness to all. Her strong faith and devotion to Sweet Jesus was evident in all she did throughout her life. Carol was active for 50 years in St. Edmunds Church and gave her time and talents endlessly to the parish. She had a lifelong quest for knowledge and adventure. Carol had a passion for travel, music, history, the theatre, and the New York Times crossword puzzle. She was an amazing woman who gave all an appreciation for the finer things in life.

She is predeceased by her husband Eddie, brother Tom Haltigan and daughter-in-law Sally Kerins. She is survived by her sons John, Gerard (Cathy) and Peter (Linda). Her grandchildren Edward (Maggie), Angela, Gerard, Madeline, Andrew, Gabrielle, Nicholas, Patrick, Brendan, and Lily who were a never-ending source of joy to her. Her siblings dear Marge and Joseph, as well as Tom, were a constant in her life and kept the love of family strong.

Carol was the proud matriarch of her family who created a home filled with love, and happiness.

Her amazing spirit will be felt forever.

Her amazing spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.

Her amazing spirit will continue to be a source of strength for all those whom she loved.
